At the new Dante Merlo facility in Vigevano, Atletica Meneghina and Pro Patria ARC dominate the Regional Relay Championships.
In Vigevano, in the new Dante Merlo facility, inaugurated on the occasion of the races, the Regional Cadet/e Relay Championships, organized by Atletica Vigevano, were held. Present were the vice president of Coni, Claudia Giordano, the former Italian champion and deputy vice president of Fidal, Manuela Levorato (pictured with the president of Bracco Atletica, Franco Angelotti) - who on this very track, on May 24, 1998, set the Italian record for the 200 meters with a time of 22.8 -, the Italian bobsledder at the Games, Jennifer Isacco (former sprinter representing Atletica Vigevano) and Alberto Cova, European, world and Olympic champion in the 10.000. Up for grabs were four titles between the 4x100 and 3x1000 men and women. Among the cadets, the victory in the 4x100 went to Atletica Meneghina in 47.95, ahead of the former champions of Atletica Estrada and CUS Pavia. In the women's 3x1000, the success was once again that of Atletica Meneghina over Atletica Lecco Colombo Costruzioni and CUS Pavia. Among the cadets, in the 4x100 the favorite, Atletica Estrada, crossed the finish line first with a time of 45.76, ahead of Aspes and Cremona Sportiva. Finally, in the men's 3x1000, the title went to Pro Patria ARC Busto Arsizio, ahead of ASD Virtus Crema and Atletica Gavirate. Giuliana Lorenzo
