Csio di Piazza di Siena: the 92nd edition kicks off with unmissable events

The 92nd edition of the Csio in Piazza di Siena offers unique shows, including the Carosello dei Carabinieri and the Puccini concert.

There is now only one day left until Csio of Siena Square, there is still a lot to tell on the eve of this 92nd edition, which is not only an expression of the highest technical level of the show jumping, but also of an entire sporting environment. In the historic oval of Villa Borghese and in the adjacent Galoppatoio even the side events have great historical and sporting charm. Who does not know the very famous Carabinieri Carousel, or that of the Lancieri di Montebello. Or the competitions reserved for the youth teams of all the Italian regions that bring, on the same field where the most famous international stars compete, all their still fresh and vibrant passion, the irrepressible enthusiasm and the desire to make a good impression in what is the most prestigious showcase of this sport.

Today our standard-bearers Casadei, Gaudiano, Martinengo and Paini, with coach Porro will reveal objectives and strategies, but two events are unmissable. The parade through the centre of Rome of the 6 polo teams (16.30:XNUMX pm departure from Piazza del Popolo) protagonists from tomorrow to Saturday at the Galoppatoio del Italy Polo Challenge Trophy. Then at sunset, in the magical setting of Piazza di Siena, the concert with pieces from Puccini's Tosca with the Orchestra della Toscana conducted by maestro Alvise Casellati, a true official overture to the event in the capital.

Starting tomorrow, an absolute novelty, the first edition of the international meeting under 25 with the participation of 24 young people from 11 nations (12 Italians of which 8 riders). Some have trained in the Young Riders Academy supported by Rider' Club with the support of Rolex, the prestigious brand that headlines the GP Roma on Sunday. The great event in the capital has 600 horses and 468 riders.

La Intesa Sanpaolo Nations Cup It's Friday, May 23: the Frecce Tricolori flyover, 10 teams at the start, 6 other nations in the individual category. The Azzurri: in addition to the aforementioned quartet of the National team, they will field 21 individuals, practically the best of our home-grown show jumping. For four days, Piazza di Siena will be the center of the world for equestrianism, but also a zero-impact green event, as Fise and Sport e Salute have strongly desired since 2018.
