The 44th edition was also a great success. Thousands of participants, around three thousand in total, attended the Grifonissima, the classic of the Perugia running. At the start from Corso Vannucci the start of the race was given for the first time by the mayor Vittoria Ferdinandi and by the Sports Councilor, Pierluigi Vossi. "Next year we will participate," said Ferdinandi, who defined the Grifonissima "an event whose meaning goes beyond the simple race."
Interesting facts about the winners. The first to cross the finish line in the 10,5km competitive race were the same two athletes as in 2023. Among the men, the first to arrive at the Santa Giuliana stadium, with a time of 33 minutes and 31 seconds, was Khalid Mokhchane of Tx Fitness. Among the women, the home athlete won, Silvia Drums, of Atletica Avis Perugia (37'53"). Michele Salvatore (34'44") of GS Virtus and Cristian Orazi (35'24") completed the men's podium. In the women's category, silver went to Laura Biagetti (Calcestruzzi Corradini Excels, 38'29") and Linda Giorgi (Avid Perugia, 39'21").
There were 645 athletes, representing over 60 teams, registered for the competitive race. Some also came from Piedmont, Liguria and Lombardy. More than 200 participants in the non-competitive race, again over the distance of 10,5 kilometers. Many more registered for the Grifonissima 3K, the 3,5-kilometer free race, animated by almost 900 students from schools in the Perugia area plus another 734 registered. Many people then lined up along the route, registering well over 3 thousand participants. The Grifonissima is organized by Avanti Tutta Foundation, whose proceeds will go to support the activities promoted in favor of cancer patients.
