PONTREMOLILa Larcianese accomplishes a great feat, defeating the strong formation of the rival team on the field Pontremoli, considered by all the experts to be the favourite for the final success. With this victory the Viola team has accessed the playoff final of its group which will be played next Sunday, on neutral ground, against Pietrasanta, who defeated the Forte dei MarmiThe goal that decided the match and qualification came in the third minute of the second half. Capetta, from an attacking midfield position, served the Viola striker with a delightful lob Ba, who with skill and precision overcame the local goalkeeper Cocks, who had dived out. An important goal that broke the balance of play that had been had in the first half.
The match had started badly for the Larcianese, due to the injury suffered by the defender Bathrooms, caused by a fortuitous collision with their own goalkeeper. In the 25th minute the Viola came close to taking the lead, but a close-range shot from Ba just misses the post. In the 28th minute the Pontremoli with a diagonal shot from Of Santo: the ball goes just over the crossbar. At 34' there is a great intervention by Cyril, who saves a header from baudi.
In the second half, after the advantage of Ba, everyone expected a strong reaction from the locals. A draw, at the end of extra time, would have been enough for the Pontremoli to get through the round. But the Larcianese showed all its defensive and team compactness, while the Pontremoli she never actually made herself dangerous, except for a close range shot by Mancini in the 27th minute, deflected into a corner by Cyril. At the final whistle there was a great celebration in the Viola dressing room and among the fans, who had arrived Pontremoli in considerable numbers. It was an important victory, fully deserved and obtained against a great team. The satisfaction is double. Now all the concentration of the Viola environment shifts to the play-off on Sunday against Pietrasanta. On Tuesday evening the Figs will indicate the playing field.
