Matteo Arnaldi, 24, takes another step forward in the Madrid Masters 1000
TENNISDespite the blackout that affected most of the Iberian Peninsula, yesterday Matthew Arnaldi he managed to earn a ticket to the eighth finals of the tournament ATP Masters 1000 of Madrid beating Bosnian Damir Džumhur 6-3 6-4 in a match that was interrupted by a power failure and was eventually concluded. The organizers then decided to cancel the other scheduled matches, including the one between Matteo Berrettini and Englishman Jack Draper and the one between Lorenzo Musetti and Stefanos Tsitsipas. The reason is clearly linked to the ongoing blackout. Arnaldi's next opponent will be eliminated from the match between American Tiafoe and Frenchman Muller, a match that was postponed to this morning, as were the other two Italians.
