Mernap faces Jesi in the playoffs for promotion to Serie A2, after a disappointing end to the season.

Direct promotion failed with a Guinness World Record suicide, the Mernap try again to conquer the A2 series, this time passing by playoff. A very tough and difficult path, given that the Faenza team will have to overcome three elimination rounds with home and away matches to reach the final, but, as the season has taught us, it is better to think about one commitment at a time. The first obstacle is Jesi which will arrive at the PalaCattani on Sunday at 19.30 pm, while the second match will be scheduled in the Marche on Saturday 3 May at 16 pm. The formula foresees that in the event of a draw at the end of the double confrontation and extra time, there will be no penalty kicks, but the best ranked team in the regular season will advance to the next round, which would be Faenza having come in third ahead of Jesi. Whoever qualifies will face the winner of Chieti-Teramo on May 10 and 17. The first phase of the playoffs will therefore be played within the regular season group, then there will be a third round between the winning teams of group C (Tuscany-Emilia) and D (Romagna-Marche-Abruzzo) on May 24 and 31. Whoever wins the three rounds will play the Finals, a one-off match with possible extra time and penalties, scheduled in a neutral venue between June 6 and 8. It will be essential for Mernap to enter the field with maximum serenity and free themselves from the waste of the championship, left by the incredible collapse they had in the last few days, when instead of the two points in two games that would have helped them secure direct promotion, they suffered 2-9 defeats at home to Corinaldo (who were later promoted) and 5-2 defeats in Jesi which meant the Faenza team finished in third place.
