Palascherma Jesi: Successes in the Regional Qualification Test for the Italian Gold Championships

The Palascherma in Jesi hosted the regional qualification test of the Italian Gold Championships last weekend, valid for qualification to the national phase, of the Absolute Cadets and Youth categories of Foil and Sword. The two-day competition, organized by the Jesi fencing club, was inaugurated on Friday 25th by the Women's Foil competition of the Absolute category which saw Ginevra Guerrini of the Club Scherma Jesi gain the first step of the podium, followed in 2nd place by Ludovica Grisanti of the Club Scherma La Misericordia Osimo and in 3rd, ex aequo, by Isabella Canu of the Club Scherma Jesi and Anna Sofia Cantarini of the Club Scherma Ancona. Guerrini and Grisanti, the first two in the ranking, are qualified for the national phase. Victory for Vincenzo Erman, of the Club Scherma Senigallia, in the Absolute Men's Foil competition; 2nd Ettore Grandicelli of the Club Scherma Pesaro; 3rd ex aequo Andrea Chiaramonti and Semuel Lorenzo Durruthy of the Jesi Scherma Club. In addition to these, the 5th classified Jetmir Giacchetti of the Jesi Scherma Club and the 6th Gioele Mancini of the Pesaro Scherma Club also pass to the national phase. In the Cadet and Youth Women's Foil, 1st place for Anna Sofia Cantarini of the Ancona Scherma Club; 2nd Isabella Canu of the Jesi Scherma Club; 3rd equal merit Iris Colantonio and Margherita Volta of the Fermo Scherma Academy. All these athletes are qualified to the Youth category national phase. Sergio Della Gatta, of the Ancona Scherma Club, conquers the podium in the Cadet and Youth Men's Foil category.
