Perugia Calcio: Market Priority for Defender and Midfielder

The month of planning, priorities, first appointments. The Perugia, this year more than ever, has the opportunity to draw up a plan and weigh up the choices. It already starts with the coach, with the confirmation of Vincenzo Cangelosi, while many teams are still looking for the best solution on the bench. At the end of the month, director Mauro Meluso will meet with the players who still have a year left on their contracts but who may not be included in the plans: the 89-born players Angella, Lisi and Bartolomei. But in addition to the exits, Perugia has already drawn up the first plan for the incomings. The priorities for the red and whites are three, a trio of operations to be closed quickly and which concern the right back, central defender and a midfielder.

The defense, with the loans returning to the base (Amoran, Mezzoni, Leo and Plaia) and doubts related to Angella, is emptying. The right wing needs immediate intervention: in these two seasons the protagonist has been Mezzon, in this championship Leo has also found space. With the return, respectively to Naples and Crotone of the two, Perugia must identify a full-back who is inclined above all to the four-man defense, chosen by Cangelosi for the Grifo to come. At the center of the back line at the moment Perugia only has Dell'Orco (who has played little this season too), Lewis, coming off a year with only one game and Riccardi who arrived in the January market. There is an urgent need to close for the right player to deliver to Cangelosi before leaving for the retreat. And then a midfielder, presumably a mezzala (if Perugia decides to focus heavily on Joselito in the role of playmaker), given the expected revolution in the central area, with Giunti much courted, Di Maggio returning to Inter, Bartolomei close to leaving and Torrasi in the balance. We will have to wait for the attack, again it will depend on the market.
