Santa Croce and the future of volleyball. Giannoni: "The Wolves are not going to Siena. They will play the B at PalaParenti"
"The youth sector also remains here and this is the most important aspect for the Municipality. I will not go into the rest".

Roberto Giannoni, mayor for a year
"The Wolves, who are celebrating the results of the past season at the Palaparenti tonight, are not going to Siena and will play the Serie B championship in Santa Croce with the historic name of Codyeco Lupi Santa Croce. As far as I know, after meetings with the club, an agreement has also been made with Siena to be able to develop a project for an A2 championship that they will play together". These are the words of the mayor of Santa Croce, Roberto Giannoni, after the news made public yesterday by our newspaper (and anticipated in recent weeks by La Nazione) of the collaboration agreement between the historic red and white club of Santa Croce and Emmas Villa Siena.
"The Serie B team and the A2 team will train in Santa Croce, and the entire youth team, over 200 young players, will remain in Santa Croce - adds Giannoni - This is the most important fact that interests us as an administration, that is, that the club is willing to welcome those young and very young players who want to try playing volleyball, because in Santa Croce this is a fundamental sport. In other words, we must be interested in the sporting-social aspect of the activity of Codyeco Lupi Santa Croce. Although I see the prospect of agreements with Siena as a far-reaching vision to allow the club to remain healthy both economically and corporately and to strengthen itself. I repeat, the main interest of my administration is that the kids who want to play volleyball find in the Lupi a willing and healthy reality".
"The company guarantees the management of the sports hall and therefore the spaces for young people who want to get closer to volleyball and this is an important fact - concludes the mayor of Santa Croce - Having said this, I clarify that it is not the administration's job to get involved in the choices of a sports club, starting with the championships that it is willing or able to financially support. Our job is to ensure that the sports hall is managed by a healthy and serious company that will continue the tradition of volleyball in our municipality, regardless of the championship it registers for and plays in". The news of the renunciation of the A3 series and the third self-relegation decided by the Wolves in a few years comes from the mayor (and not from the company).
