Success for the 11th edition of the Academy Cup at the Curi in Perugia

Another highly successful edition. The eleventh edition of theAcademy Cup, the event reserved for affiliated companies of the Perugia which ended at the stadium "Steal". Sicily, Sardinia, Puglia, Piedmont, Campania, Tuscany and Lazio, in addition to our Umbria, are some of the regions present. Ozierese and Oristano Calcio are the most distant clubs that have taken on many hours of travel to be present at this great event involving 54 clubs, almost 1000 children on the field and about 2000 people (including managers, staff, parents and friends) in the stands of the Curi. Spello, Collepepe, Cortona, Torgiano, Allerona, Castel Giorgio, Orvieto, Sanfatucchio and Petrignano are the towns that in addition to hosting the games on Thursday and Friday have given the teams the opportunity to stay and visit the beauties of the area. With the coordination of the Academy manager Mauro Lucarini, the day began with the parade of all the clubs arranged inside the “Curi” stadium. The Perugia team, led by coach Cangelosi, greeted all the kids present in the “American” style. "It is a spectacle to see all these kids lined up on the field of a monument of the city that is the Curi – declared councilor Vossi – - I am also pleased to see so many little girls present".

Representing the Umbrian Regional Committee, councilor Marco Giovagnola reiterated the importance of days like this to enhance the youth football. The president of Perugia, Javier Faroni, was present and enthusiastically attended the entire ceremony. "I thank everyone present - added Mauro Meluso - especially the children who colored this lawn that for us "grown-ups" is a battlefield but for you it should be a moment of aggregation, I wish all the best to all of you".
