Table Tennis. Italian title for Nagy-Colantoni. Success in doubles

Italian title in second category doubles for Krisztina Nagy, the athlete of Apuania Table Tennis who, together with Chiara Colantoni (Eureka Roma), climbed onto the highest step of the Italian podium Montesilvano, in the Pescara area. The Roman-Carrarese couple won by beating the couple Elisa Armanini (Turin) and the naturalized Chinese Wang Xuelan (Brescia) 3-0 (11-6, 11-9, 11-9).

In the very hard-fought semifinal, the couple Krisztina Nagy-Chiara Colantoni (pictured) prevailed 3-2 (14-16, 7-11, 11-1, 11-5, 11-2) over the Turinese Candela Sanchi and Irene Moretti. "Based on the individual rankings we were the number 1 seeds, but we had never played a doubles together and so we were only favorites on paper - explains Nagy - we struggled in the first and second match. Then we started to understand how to play together and in the last three sets we clearly imposed ourselves. For me the last match was easier, having a defense on the court. Taking into account the fact that the younger girls play very fast, having Armanini, who is a good defender, on the other side of the net gave me more time and more peace of mind. Then I was excited, because it was my first title in the category, but we succeeded in the feat".
