Zaynab Dosso wins silver at World Indoor Athletics Championships in China
The gold in the 60 meters slips away by just two hundredths of a second, paying for a less than ideal start. But the Italian athlete from Rubiera, already European champion two weeks ago, improves on the 2024 world championship bronze in Glasgow and obtains another great prestigious result
Reggio Emilia, 22 March 2025 – Rubiera athlete Zaynab Dosso gives another joy and wins the silver medal in the 60 meters at the World Championships indoor athletics in Nanjing, in China.
The champion placed second in the final with 7”06 behind Switzerland Mujinga Kambundji who did better than her by a hair (7”04). Third was the Luxembourgian Patricia van der Weken (7”07).

Just two hundredths of a second that leave a bitter taste in the mouth to the Italian athlete who in the heats had recorded the best time (7”09) among all the athletes, but a start from the blocks – not one of her best – made her lose a little during the final where, however, she was in front until halfway, only to be overtaken by the more explosive Swiss.
But Dosso must smile because another prestigious result arrives for her. Two weeks ago she was crowned European champion in the 60 meters indoors in Apeldoorn, Holland with 7”01 and currently the best world seasonal time as well as the absolute Italian women's record in the specialty.
And above all he has further improved his world ranking since last year in Glasgow he had won bronze again in the 60 metres indoor.
In short, Zaynab, born in Ivory Coast and naturalized Italian after arriving in her Rubiera at the age of ten, it is only destined to grow and give us further great sporting satisfactions.
