Trento, 3 December 2024 – Third consecutive defeat in Eurocup is preferably used for Dolomites Energy Trentino that on its own parquet gives way by 70-81 at Dreamland Gran Canaria on the first day of the return leg of Group B. The Bianconeri, undefeated in the Italian championship, fought on equal terms for twenty minutes against the Iberian team before giving up the scene in the second half. Top scorer for the winners was Caleb Homesley who scored 15 points while on the other side Ford's 17 and Lamb's 16 are not enough. The playoff hopes are therefore fading for the Italian roster, fresh from last Sunday's home victory against Napoli Basket.

Lamb and Ford are not enough to get the better of the Spaniards

In the opening bars Mike Tobey, the best of the first leg won by his team by 84-81, immediately tries to make his mark on the challenge with a couple of plays that are worth 3-7. The home team doesn't sit back and watch and manage to tie the score at 10-10 halfway through the first quarter with Myles Cale. Anthony Lamb and Jordan Ford will then widen the gap with a +5 on the scoreboard. The advantage will last just a few moments since Nicolas Brussino and Homesley immediately mend the gap. Saliou Niang, recovered for the match, gives the minimum advantage to his team. The match proves to be balanced in this first part of the match and every little detail can make the difference. As in the case of Toto Forray who from long distance gives the 20-17. Bayehe extends the lead to 22-19, the score with which the first quarter ends. Trento continues along the lines of the previous quarter with Lamb converting the three free throws resulting from a foul committed by Peleos into points from the free throw line. Gran Canaria relies on the experience of Tobey who takes matters into his own hands with five points of his own.

Shurna overtakes by reversing the inertia in favor of Dreamland who manages to manage the Trentino reaction with Lamb's bomb. The islanders escape to +9 (30-39 at 17') setting off the first alarm bell in coach Galbiati's team. Jordan Ford partially reduces the gap bringing Dolomiti Energia back to 37-41. We go to the break at 40-45 with Gran Canaria doing well to give their opponents a 26-20 break. When they return from the locker rooms, the music doesn't change on the woods of "Il T Quotidiano Online". The team coached by Jaka Lakovic runs away to 40-56 after two turns of the clock before cashing in a partial of 8-0 with Zukauskas who opens the way followed by two more conclusions by Ford that are worth 48-56. The match remains partially open for the home team that records a seven-point deficit (54-61) only to then sink again under the double digit deficit at 54-65 at the third siren. In the fourth quarter there is almost nothing to report except Ford who tries to limit the damage (70-78 with thirty seconds to go) before Salvo and Thomasson close the game definitively.
