Trapani Shark - Germani Basketball Brescia

Bologna, 23 March 2025 – I Trapani Shark write a new page in their history and for the first time they take the lead alone in the Serie A basketball championship: playing a decisive role in reaching this historic milestone, in addition to the defeat in Bologna in the advance and the defeat in Trento with Milan, was the 94-88 success in the clash with Germani Brescia: the absolute star of the race was the American JD Notae, who took home a haul of 26 points in 27 minutes. The American, with a great third quarter, helped the Sicilians to fill a large part of the gap of eight points suffered in the first 20' (44-52). Thanks to Rossato, then, Trapani put the arrow of the overtaking in the fourth quarter and never looked back. Behind the Sicilians a quartet was formed which includes Virtus Segafredo Bologna, Germani Brescia itself, Olimpia Milano and Dolomiti Energia Trento. The latter two protagonists today of a direct clash that saw EA7 Emporio Armani prevails in a photo finish by 89-87 over the black and whites from Trentino: there are four players who finished in double figures in the red and whites' chessboard, led by a Nikola Mirotic with 18 points. Milan held the lead for the entire 40 minutes, but was unable to break away from Trento, who never gave up and were supported by 18 points each from Jordan Ford and Anthony Lamb. In the final stages, the plays of a glacial Mirotic were decisive. In the safety zone, Napoli Basket achieved a very heavy success, winning 91-81 on the Givova Scafati court. which thus suffered its fourth defeat in a row: the watershed of the match was the third quarter, in which the Neapolitans pushed hard to place a partial of 31-17. The stars of coach Valli's team, who shot 47% from three, were Jacob Pullen with 20 points and Erick Green with 18. The white and blues have thus overtaken Scafati who remains at 12 points together with Cremona and Varese, defeated respectively by Sassari and Treviso. Nutribullet interrupted a negative streak of four knockouts by beating the Varese team – at its eighth consecutive defeat – by 88-86: a success on which there is the decisive signature of Osvaldas Olisevicius, who closed with a personal haul of 28 points, sealed by the free throws that extinguished the hopes of Varese, capable of coming back from -17. A narrow KO also for Vanoli, beaten 93-89 by Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari, driven by the 21 points and 14 rebounds of Rashawn Thomas. After three quarters played on the edge of balance, the Sardinians put the turbo on, reaching +16 and resisting the last, generous attempt at a comeback by Cremona. Estra Pistoia remains alone at the bottom of the standings after being overwhelmed 94-68 on the field of Bertram Derthona Tortona at the end of a one-sided match: the Piedmontese, dragged by the 15 points each of Kuhse and Baldasso, directed the fate of the match with the 32-17 scored in the first 10' and did not run any more risks. Finally, it is worth noting the away win by Venice that conquered Reggio Emilia 92-87: the decisive performances of Rodney McGruder (20 points) and Mfiondu Kabengele (17 points and 15 rebounds).
