Fortitudo, new player Donte Thomas arrives

The American athlete will be under contract until the end of the season, replacing the injured Kenny Gabriel. Last year he wore the Turin jersey

He subsequently earned a call-up to NCAA Division I from Bradley University, where he spent his entire college career, from the 2014-15 to 2017-18 academic years, finishing his senior year with 11.7 points and 7.2 rebounds on average.

After leaving college, Thomas faced his first professional experience in Finland, with KTP Basket in Korisliiga. In the 2019/20 season, the new Fortitudo player wore the Donar Groningen jersey (playing alongside Deshawn Freeman), with whom he also made his continental debut in the Europe Cup.

In the following season, he reached the series, in Cantù, where he produced 7 points and 4.5 rebounds in 22 minutes. He returned to the Netherlands in 2021/22 still in Donar Groningen, then moved to Heroes Den Bosch, with whom he played 40 games between BNXT League (the Belgian-Dutch league) and FIBA ​​Europe Cup, averaging 9.2 points and 5 rebounds in the league and 7 points and 5.2 rebounds in the continental competition.

In last season, Thomas dressed the Turin shirt, playing together with Luca Vencato and Marco Cusin and maintaining averages of 14,1 points and 6,9 rebounds in 22 regular season games and 12,3 points and 7,7 rebounds in the three playoff games played.

In the first 5 months of this competitive season, Thomas has played at Chorale Roanne, in the French A2 series, from which Fortitudo bought him.

Energy, athleticism, physicality, experience, Thomas will increasingly develop the internal game of Effe rather than the external one, opening the field more in favor of his teammates.
