Verona, January 26, 2025 - Fortitudo wins and convinces and passes 67-77 in Verona at the home of Scaligera. Solid and strong-willed performance for the formation of Attilio Caja who finds excellent responses from all the elements of his team.
In Verona comes the fifth consecutive victory, the tenth in 12 challenges of the Caja2 era. Effe often and willingly ahead in the score, if we exclude the initial 9-4 and a couple of advantages by Alessandro Ramagli's team in the third quarter of the game.
The news
Verona starts off better 4-0. LA Effe breaks the deadlock at 3' with Fantinelli, but the first baskets of Cannon e Pen they launch Verona ahead 9-4.
Flats Service steps up the ante: triple by Bolpin, basket by Freeman and another triple by Battistini for the 0-8 which at 7' is worth the 9-12 first advantage for the white and blues, with Copeland keeping Scaligera afloat.
At the beginning of the second quarter, Caja's team further raises its lead defensive level, drying up the offensive actions of the home team. An enterprising Battistini and Bolpin thus launch Fortitudo to +9 on 19-28 at 14'.
Fantinelli and his teammates always keep the lead of the match thanks to Freeman, Bolpin and at the first points of Thomas, while on the other side they rely heavily on Cannon who is effective from the free throw line. The advantage of the Effe always fluctuates between 6 and 9 points.
At the beginning of the second half Verona continues to nibble away at points, tying the score at 50-50 at 26' and then going ahead 53-52 at 28', with Penna and Udom being decisive. Giving the definitive turning point they're thinking about the match 4 triples by Mian, between the end of the third fraction and the beginning of the fourth. The inertia is once again all for Effe who closes the accounts with Cloths and Aradori.
We return to the field on Wednesday for the PalaDozza challenge against Cantù.
