Two negotiations that were supposed to go well and that, instead, ended up in a dead end. The moral is that the Virtus is still on the hunt for a replacement Will Clyburn and the way things went it almost seems that those who deal with the market, namely the general manager Paolo Ronci, let's go and engage in negotiations with a predetermined outcome.

In the case of Edmond sumner the American playmaker was not free from the Chinese team Sichuan Blue Whales, while in that of the American winger Devonte Graham the agreement seemed to be one step away, but in the end it turned out that the player would remain overseas, either because he still cherishes the NBA dream, or because the continental future of the Black V will not go beyond the first phase.

Ronci is generally someone who tends to see in basketball players what others do not see. If there had not been the uprising of the entire environment, a top player like Simone Fontecchio would have passed through Arcoveggio when the Pescara winger was not yet so popular, and also this summer in a very complicated market he brought under the Two Towers that Momo Diouf who is now making the difference, but who until September seemed destined to be a backup long.

The impression is that there is something underneath. This impasse certainly does not make the CEO's job easier. Luca Baraldi who would need to sign a good player hoping that he will help the team win a few more games in Euroleague to then go to Barcelona and explain to the ECA that Segafredo deserves a new license because there is an ownership that wants to continue investing and that this has been a very unlucky season.

Waiting on the market has only one advantage: to avoid the budget being further expanded, making it necessary to integrate it into the operation already underway that includes a capital increase. It is clear that for Ronci and Baraldi it would be much easier to act if they knew in advance the amount available to carry out this market graft.

At Virtus the problem is always the same, understanding how the ownership intends to move forward and whether the balance between the members will remain the current one with the president Massimo Zanetti which holds 55 percent. Tomorrow at Segafredo Arena Monaco arrives and Dusko Ivanovic will have to prepare the match with the same team that defeated Cremona on Monday.
