De Akker players take to the pool: they must not fail today
It's time for game 2 for De Akker Bologna.
Coach Federico Mistrangelo's team takes to the pool this evening at 19pm at the Scandone swimming pool in Naples to face the home team Posillipo in the second match of the fifth-sixth place final.
After the narrow defeat in the first match of the series at home (15-16), De Akker must try to overturn the home field advantage to force a definitive game 3.
In the event of a second success, Posillipo would in fact finish in fifth place in the standings, with De Akker, who is already certain of participating in European competitions for the second consecutive year, would equal the excellent sixth position achieved last season.
"We are training hard for this match - confirmed coach Federico Mistrangelo - We have to go to Naples convinced that we can change the outcome of this final. For this reason we will have to have a decidedly different approach compared to the one we have had up to now in the championship, also because leaving space to a team like Posillipo means not being able to recover. At the same time it is clear that our championship has already achieved a great result - continued the coach - obtaining qualification for the European cups for the second consecutive year. The boys have been very good and for them returning to Bologna would be like putting the icing on a cake that is already very tasty anyway".
Coach Mistrangelo will have Tringali back, suspended in game 1, and will therefore have a full team for a game that, in the event of a defeat, would close the season, but as mentioned, in the event of a victory, would bring the series to the definitive game 3 scheduled for next Tuesday in Bologna.
The refereeing team of Riccardo D'Antoni and Giuliana Nicolosi will be in charge of this evening's match.
