"Ascoli, now you have to get up again". Agostini: I want to stay optimistic
The former Juventus player: "I don't agree with the imposition of the game from the bottom. I remember Boskov's words"

With Agostini
Last ten appointments for theAscoli di Cudini who is about to face his decisive season finale. The next appointment scheduled for Perugia (starting at 20.30) will offer the chance to get back on their feet after the heavy defeat at home against Ternana. The one who spoke about the moment the Bianconeri are experiencing was the former Meco Agostini.
What do you think of the current Picchio coach? "Now there is a coach who knows the environment. Cudini knows well how the place works. Ascoli has been living in intensive care for a few years now. Cudini was smart in understanding where to touch, leveraging the boys, the set-up and the mentality".
What do you think of the last defeat? "I think it was an accident along the way. The team had previously won in Pescara and that's not for everyone. Two mistakes were made against Ternana and in games like that you pay for them. I don't agree with imposing the game from the back. I remember Boskov telling us 'the less ball there is behind, the better'. We should go back to being a bit more practical".
What kind of match will it be at Curi? "It will be a heated match. I remember a Coppa Italia match where we won 4-0 with Boskov. At the moment both teams are in difficulty and I think we should risk as little as possible. I hope we can get a result, but even a draw wouldn't be bad".
How much does Corazza's fast weigh? "We can't understand why he's a bit stuck. Maybe it's a bad moment. However, Ascoli is not at risk of failing in its objective, which is clearly salvation. Now we can only focus on this without looking at anything else. Despite the uproar that is developing around this club, the coach and the boys are doing reasonably well."
What kind of end to the season do you foresee? "Ascoli has all the prerequisites to close the season in a calm position in the standings. Considering the somewhat troubled waters, I would avoid ambitions. These require projects, solidity, stability. In this stormy situation the team is giving its best. Some players seemed lost and instead now various elements are finding themselves. The team now seems more solid even in midfield".
Are you worried about the future? "I want to remain optimistic, but the situations that are developing still generate concerns. When there are debts and the Guardia di Finanza comes several times for check-ups is never a good sign. We are talking about problems that can inevitably have repercussions on the team. You never know who is responsible. Today, finding the benefactor who takes on everything is not easy. I hope that we can find the famous light at the end of the tunnel. Maybe it will be the owner himself who fixes things. I hope so. But if it were to end, it is important that we start again on something concrete".
