Bologna and the historic promotion from Serie C: a dinner to remember

Imagine an evening at dinner with 'The boys of the first C'. C meaning series C, the football hell in which the Bologna sank for the first time in 1983-84. But with Cadè on the bench and a handful of unforgettable protagonists on the pitch, that hell became purgatory in May thanks to the reconquest of Serie B. On Saturday night the club 'Red and Blue Castle' President Claudio Baratta paid homage to that Bologna by calling together, under the direction of Luciano Brigoli, some of the protagonists of that forty-year journey in a dinner-show enlivened by the contributions of Alessandro Pilloni and Orfeo Orlando and introduced by the music of Federico Aicardi.

From the goalkeeper Massimo Bianchi to the rock-solid defenders Franco Fabbri and Roberto Bombardi, from the Venetian midfielders Dario Donà and Livio Pin to the Tuscan Luciano Facchini (who scored the goal promotion with Trento in a packed Dall'Ara on the last day), passing through the very Bolognese Francesco Gazzaneo, the incomparable Gil De Ponti and the Venetian midfielder Vittorio Zerpelloni. "If Bologna is up there today, we also gave them a hand forty years ago", the message from the Boys of the first C. It's hard to disagree with them.
