Cruciate ligaments that jump, muscle injuries that grow. And the 'Football medicine' which seeks appropriate strategies to alleviate the effects of a football who does not know the word rest and makes the ball travel at speeds that were unthinkable until a few years ago. This is the scientific challenge that the 32nd Isokinetic Congress which will take place on Saturday, Sunday and Monday in Madrid, in the splendid setting of the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, Atletico's stadium. The title of the conference organised by Isokinetic in collaboration with the Fifa, "New Frontiers", illustrates well the meaning of the three days that will bring together in the Spanish capital 250 speakers and 2.500 registered participants from 85 countries. The largest delegation comes from the United States, which in June will host the new expanded edition of the Club World Cup.

In a year's time, the USA, Canada and Mexico will be the three venues for the World Cup for national teams. All valid reasons not to miss the event in Madrid. The football runs like crazy (a study shows how in the last ten years the speed in the game (has grown by 50 percent) and the injuries they grow. "The cruciate ligament injuries in Serie A there are already twenty against the sixteen of last season", explains Francesco Della Villa, president of the Congress together with the Fifa medical director Andrew Massey. Among the Bolognese excellences present in Madrid are the head of the Bologna health staff Gianni Nanni and the luminary of Rizzoli Stefano Zaffagnini.
