Cagliari-Fiorentina: probable formations, time and where to watch it

Cagliari, 23 April 2025 - In one of the four recoveries of the 33rd matchday of Serie A, Cagliari e Fiorentina they face each other at the Unipol Domus and both are hunting for the three points. The Sardinians, to move away from the relegation zone (there is a five-point margin on Venice and Empoli) and return to moving up the standings after last week's defeat against Inter, while the Tuscans are moving towards a place in Europe, after the draws with Milan and Parma in the last two matchdays.

Cagliari are winless in eight consecutive games (D3 L5) against Fiorentina in Serie A and have failed to score in six of those, including the first leg; the islanders' last win against the Viola in the tournament dates back to November 2019 (5-2 at Unipol Domus). The Viola have won all of their last three Serie A matches against the islanders and could make it four wins in a row against the Rossoblu for the first time in the competition. The Sardinians have won 18 of their 42 home games (D17 L7) against the Gigliati in Serie A: only against Sampdoria have the Sardinians had more wins (20/36) in home games in the top flight.

The curiosity 

Cagliari won their last match at the Unipol Domus against Monza without conceding a goal (3-0); the Rossoblu could string together two consecutive home wins for the first time in Serie A since October-November 2023 and two home wins in a row with a clean sheet for the first time in the tournament since April 2017. Fiorentina have not conceded a goal in four of their last six league games, after having managed to do so in only one of their previous 12 matches; furthermore, the Viola could draw three games in a row for the second time in the management of Raphael Palladino in Serie A, after the first three matches of the current tournament. Cagliari is one of the four teams to have collected more points in 2025 than those earned from the start of the championship until December: 16 against 14 for the Sardinians, together with Roma (34/20), Bologna (29/28) and Genoa (20/19). Fiorentina is third to last for the number of corners taken in this championship: 124, more only than Venezia (115) and Monza (114) and a good 33 less than those of Cagliari (157); however, the Tuscan team is, on a par with Inter, one of the two to boast the best corner/goal average in the current tournament: one goal every 18 corners taken.

The arbitrator's appointment

The Hague has chosen to entrust Cagliari-Fiorentina to the referee Livio Marinelli of the Tivoli section. The assistants will be Perrotti and Lo Cicero, with Monaldi in the role of fourth official. Finally, at the Var there will be the pair composed of Meraviglia and Massa. 

Time and where to see the challenge

Cagliari-Fiorentina is scheduled for Wednesday April 23, with kick-off set for 18pm. The match will be broadcast exclusively by Dazn. To follow it on TV, in addition to a subscription to the platform, you must have a smart TV on which to download the app, or you will have to connect a device such as Google Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV Stick, or a Sky Q decoder to your television or a console such as PlayStation 30 or 4, XboX One, One S and One X.
