Carrarese-Sampdoria 1-0, Torregrossa signs the Azzurri celebration

Carrara, 25 April 2025 – Historic victory for the Carrarese on Sampdoria who now "sees" salvation. The Apuan team passes at the first opportunity, making the most of a counterattack on an opponent's corner. In the 6th minute Finotto produces a coast to coast serving Cherubini who shoots at the goalkeeper and on the rebound serves Torregrossa for the easy winning tap-in. The Azzurri on the wings of enthusiasm at the 8th minute come back into the area with Cicconi, whose shot is blocked. Sampdoria reacts at the 11th minute with a close-range shot by Benedetti blocked on the ground by Bleve. The match begins to heat up and finally heats up at the 28th minute when Carrarese sees a goal disallowed for a foul identified by the VAR at the start of the action.

On Cicconi's low cross, Benedetti deflects it into his own goal but everything is ruined by a previous foul by Guarino on Niang. The match becomes more edgy and the Blucerchiati manage to create only one danger before the break in the 33rd minute with a shot in the area by Vieira blocked by Bleve. In the second half, the Marmiferi control Sampdoria well, who lack reaction. In the 63rd minute, a rocket by Cicconi following a corner ends just above the crossbar. The crossbar, however, is hit by Niang in the 67th minute on a free kick from the edge.

The guests hit the woodwork again in injury time, in the 93rd minute, with Oudin. It was the last thrill before the explosion of joy at the Stadio dei Marmi. Carrarese now has more than one foot in the next Serie B.
