Bratislava (Slovakia), 26 November 2024 – Left amid boos at San Siro after a lacklustre performance against Juventus which ended in a 0-0 draw, Milan he is ready to turn the page and dive back into Champions League: today at 18.45 (match live on Sky Sport and streaming on Sky Go and Now Tv), the Rossoneri will go to visit the Slovan Bratislava, the rear light of the group, with the aim of achieving the third consecutive European victory and continuing the pursuit of the highest levels of the rankings. The Rossoneri coach Paulo Fonseca, despite the Slovakian position in the standings, it is certain that his boys, who have shown greater difficulty in facing less famous teams, will not underestimate the commitment: "I expect that will not be the case - Fonseca explained in the press conference. We talked with the team about how important this match is. We will play against a team with different characteristics and for us it will be essential to have the right attitude to try to get the three points. We absolutely cannot underestimate Slovan. They are a physical team and it will be tough without the right attitude. It is true, we have done well against the big teams and a little less well against the so-called small ones, but we work every day to become a team with the attitude and ambitions that we showed against the big teams against all our opponents". Possible, however, a bit of turnover which should also concern Rafa Leao, who appeared not very effective against Juventus and could be replaced by Okafor. “I don’t know yet. We’ll see. Rafa is very important for us and is going through a positive moment, but I have great faith in all my players and if Rafa doesn’t play, it means someone else will. What is certain is that we absolutely want to win here and that a team will take the field to win”. In attack, however, space for Abraham: “He will play”.
Possible choices for Fonseca and Weiss
Fonseca will not give up the tried and tested 4-2-3-1 but will give space to some turnover: in the defensive package in front of Maignan, captain Calabria and Tomori will be seen again from the 1st minute, completing the department with Thiaw and Theo Hernandez. The stainless midfield duo formed by Fofana and Reijnders has been confirmed, while in the three-quarter line Okafor's use in place of Leao is increasingly likely and alongside Pulisic and Chukwueze to support the striker Abraham. Same module for Weiss' Slovan who will field a back four made up of Blackman, Kashia, Bajric, Wimmer to protect the goalkeeper Takac. In front of the defense, instead, the tandem made up of the former Rossoneri Kucka and Savvidis, while Barseghyan, Metsoko and Mak will operate in the three-quarter line, behind the striker Strelec.
Probable lineups
Milan (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Theo; Fofana, Reijnders; Chukwueze, Pulisic, Okafor; Abraham. All Fonseca
