Maldini says goodbye to football. At 27 he will be a prosecutor

by Fulvio D'Eri

Not all Maldini can lift the Champions League and win national and international trophies. And not all Maldinis can be prominent footballers and reach important heights in professional football because in sport it is not easy to retrace the careers of illustrious ancestors. The Maldini in question is Christian, Paolo's eldest son, a champion of Milan and the national team and one of the strongest defenders ever, and grandson of grandfather Cesare, another Rossoneri bulwark capable of lifting the Champions League like his son. Christian Maldini just yesterday, after a career that began, it goes without saying, in the Milan youth team and continued in the Maltese A and, in Italy, between Serie D and a lot of Serie C (he also played in the Pro Sesto), decided to hang up his He hung up his shoes at just 27 years old to embark on a career as a prosecutor.

Powerful physique, not too polite feet (at least compared to those of his father Paolo), rocky marker, Christian also in his last season in Lecco, which culminated with the promotion to Serie B, played little, three breaks and a red, always showed great commitment by behaving like an exemplary professional. A few years ago he said that he would like to be coached by Ancelotti and Sheva. Legitimate dreams of a footballer not even twenty years old. Then things went differently, the talent was not that of a "Maldini big" and therefore Christian, released from Lecco in the summer, succumbed to the court of Giuseppe Riso, agent of, among others, Tonali, Frattesi and Pessina. But he will not be his client but rather his colleague.

Christian has decided to remain in the world of football, so dear to all the Maldinis, and to start his career as a prosecutor. He knows languages, he knows football and could reach those heights that he was unable to reach on the pitches where he still had fun and grew up. Only Daniel, Paolo's second son, remains to try to carry on the Maldini dynasty, who, at 21 years old, after having gone through all the stages in the Milan youth team and having made his debut and even scored with the first team shirt last year she went to play, again in Serie A, for Spezia and this year she is on loan (her card is from Milan) at Zanetti's Empoli where she will be able to grow. An attacking midfielder by profession, nothing in common with the other Maldinis who are all defenders, he has arrived to play in Serie A but will hardly be able to emulate his father Paolo and grandfather Cesare. On the other hand, not all Maldini can lift the Champions League.
