Cremonese bids farewell to Stroppa and turns the page for a new coach: Nicola in pole position, keep an eye on Gilardino and De Rossi

Cremona, June 13, 2025 – Now it's official. After the June 30 deadline the paths of Cremonese and Giovanni Stroppa will separate. The coach from Lodi will therefore not be leading the Grigiorossi in the season of their return to Serie A and the splendid night of June 1st at the “Picco” was not enough to decide to extend a relationship that has continued, with ups and downs, since September 2023, but without ever managing to fully ignite the spark of an enthusiastic union.

A true distrust, for the choices and rigidity of the game plan that were contested to the former Milan and Brescia player and that last October even led to the dismissal of the former attacking midfielder. The coach from Lodi, in fact, enjoys many admirers in the cadet tournament, which has already seen him as a great protagonist with teams such as Crotone, Monza and, indeed, Cremonese and should not have particular difficulty in finding a new company determined to bet on him for a top championship. At this moment we are talking in particular about Venice, but the next few weeks will define the future of the now ex-Cremonese coach. To find out who his successor will be, we will need to have a certain amount of patience.

The names, in this regard, are different, even if in the last few hours the odds of Davide nicola, a coach experienced in football "miracles", but the group of possible candidates is quite large and includes names of undoubted importance such as Alberto Gilardino and Daniele De Rossi, but other profiles such as Eusebio Di Francesco and Marco Giampaolo should not be completely overlooked, who, after the unexpected divorce from Lecce, could also decide to start again from Cremona, where he already coached during the 2014/2015 season.
