by Niccolò PistolesiEMPOLIThe first piece has been inserted. With the arrival of Guido Pagliuca the construction of the new Empoli can begin. It will take calm, patience and balance. There will be the need to understand which elements can bring added value, which from last year will still be part of the squad and who will change direction. Intense, hectic months, and at the same time fundamental and significant to direct a season. A backbone to be recomposed and modeled, structuring it according to needs and opportunities. During the presentation of the new Empoli coach, one of the most significant passages concerned the transfer market. For days – if not weeks – the debate among fans and insiders has revolved around the many question marks floating around the so-called "old guard". Some veterans still under contract with the club could represent important players in a Serie B season, but their future remains to be written. The one to clarify was the sporting director Roberto Gemmi, who focused in particular on two names: gyasi e Fat. His words leave little room for doubt: "It's a matter of co-participation, it also depends on their will. From the perception I have, I think they want to change. Maybe it's a good thing for everyone: they can find new stimuli elsewhere, and we can bring enthusiasm from outside, fueling what we already have". A move that sounds like an announced farewell for two of the Azzurri senators, unlikely to be seen in the squad next season.

On the release front, it continues to make people talk about it too Jacopo Fazzini. The midfielder has ended up in the sights of several clubs, but Commisso's Fiorentina seems ready to launch the decisive attack. The Florence-Empoli axis could heat up again, with an operation that is around 10 million euros plus bonuses.

Revenue chapter: the hottest name is that of Edward Tastes. A versatile player, capable of acting both as an attacking midfielder and as a second striker, he comes from a brilliant season with Lucchese – 10 goals in 35 appearances. Empoli's interest is concrete, and Sky Sport also confirms: the club is ready to welcome him on a free transfer, with a three-year contract. As for the defense, however – one of the departments that needs to be rebuilt most urgently – he is liked Valerio Mantovani of Ascoli who spent the last season on loan at Bari with whom he scored one goal in 33 appearances, playing consistently as a central defender but also capable of covering positions such as left or right back. Born in 1996, he can bring experience to a department that needs to be reorganized. Monza and Bari themselves are also interested in him and would like to reconfirm him.
