Empoli-Cagliari, Corsi: “Ungenerous whistles, applause would be useful”
The president did not appreciate the public's reaction to the 0-0 draw with the Sardinians: "If someone thinks that the Coppa Italia can be won, then perhaps they should support Fiorentina"

Empoli, April 6, 2025 – Fabrizio Corsi against a part of the Castellani crowd. The blue president he didn't like the boos that rained down from the stands after the 0-0 draw against Cagliari. Not everyone protested the team (the Maratona ultras, for example, applauded), but the discontent was felt.
"The whistles? I feel sorry for the players. I don't care, I know what we've been doing for years. I have to protect a heritage and put the players in a position to give their best. There may be games in which you are disappointed with the performance, but at this moment we should applaud them anyway. Cagliari is a team that has made important investments that we are not capable of doing".
Corsi continues: "I cannot change the thoughts of the spectators. If someone thinks that the Coppa Italia can be won, then maybe he should support Fiorentina who has the tools and the staff to do it - he added - If you look at other provincial clubs, who fail and have to rebuild the team, you realize what they are experiencing. We are seen as a model, and the model defends itself by encouraging players with a mature attitude".
On the match, to the microphones of Rai Radio 1 he concluded: "We did better, we deserved to win. The fear was yet another mockery in the final. I don't have to say anything to the team, they gave everything, they did what they could. It's obvious that we need to do more, but even today we had two suspended and others injured, we hope to recover some players. In several of the last matches we were superior, but we collected few points. In football there is a certain randomness, in centimetres you can be lucky or unlucky".
