Empoli Under 16 has a new coach: after Filippeschi's promotion to the Primavera and Tonelli's subsequent promotion to the Under 17, Empoli has announced the new coach of the Under 16 team. As stated in the press release issued by the Azzurri, it is Dario Alberto Polverini, a coach born in 1987 and originally from Anzio. His career as a professional footballer, which saw him wear the jerseys of Pro Patria, Pisa and Real Vicenza, began in the youth sector of Roma: the Giallorossi are Empoli's main pursuer in the National Under 16 Serie A and B championship, with a 10-point deficit. The team, until a few days ago coached by Tonelli, beat Lazio 2-1 in their last outing at the Monteboro Sports Centre, thanks to goals by Isidori and Perillo: still undefeated, Empoli therefore leads with 44 points in 16 games.
