Tar Toscana cancels away travel ban: Cagliari fans at Carlo Castellani stadium

The fans of the Cagliari Residents of Sardinia and in possession of the rossoblu club's fidelity card will be able to enter the stadium tomorrow Carlo Castellani-Computer Gross Arena. To put an end to the question regarding the travel prohibited for the Sardinians it is the Tar of Tuscany, which accepted the appeal of Giulini's club, annulling the provision issued by the prefecture of Florence for public order reasons. For the TAR, in fact, this reasoning generically refers to 'prejudicial episodes' that also involved Cagliari fans and critical issues recorded especially in the matches in Empoli on 13 February 2022 and 3 March 2024, in which Cagliari supporters allegedly engaged in 'oppositional conduct' without specifying it. Thus, the TAR, unable to verify the actual scope and severity of the ban, deemed the travel ban for Sardinian fans excessive.

Rather, the judges of the Administrative Court indicate suitable containment measures to be adopted: sale of tickets for the away sector only, implementation of the stewarding service and strengthening of the pre-filtering and filtering services.

For its part, Empoli FC immediately took action to sell tickets, declaring itself very happy to implement the decision taken, also in light of the fact that there is no rivalry between the two fan bases.
