Confirmed travel ban for residents in Sardinia on the occasion of Empoli-Cagliari on Sunday at 15pm at Castellani. The decision was made official at the end of a meeting in Prefecture in Florence, chaired by the Prefect Francesca Ferrandino, for reasons of public order. A choice that Cagliari does not accept: the Sardinian fans they are also ready for legal battle, as stated in an official statement from the board of directors of the Cagliari Fan Club, which declares itself prohibited by the restrictive measure given that it is a trip without risks and friction with the Empoli fans. For this reason, it is evaluating the legal actions to take, including the request for reimbursement of expenses, after having asked to view the documents to know the real reasons for the measure. The response from the blue club was not long in coming, which states that "the club acted taking into account the request of the Committee for the Analysis of the Safety of Sports Events to refer the decision to the Prefect of Florence. A measure taken for facts that do not concern our club, our city and our fans. We want to reiterate that the welcome of the visiting fan in our stadium has never failed, and our club will never implement territorial discrimination against any fan base". Meanwhile, on social media, the island fans are reportedly thinking of going to Empoli anyway to stage a peaceful protest in the stadium parking lot with wine and roasted 'porceddu'.
