Liverpool, January 7 – He was Elon Musk's father, Errol, to actually unleash the news that the richest man on the planet, the son, would be interested in acquiring Liverpool. It emerged in an interview with Times Radio. Musk Senior, 79, initially declared, and not without irony, that he was avoiding comments about Elon's desire to become the owner of the Reds "to avoid the price rising"; but then he specified that his son "certainly would have this desire, even if this does not mean that he will then buy". Liverpool, leader of the Premier League and of the Champions League group stage, is one of the most iconic football clubs in the world. It is logical that it triggers the ambitions of the most capable entrepreneurs. It is valued at no less than six billion pounds, a monstrous figure but in theory entirely affordable for someone like Elon Musk, who can count on a net worth of 340 billion. Everything is still to be decided, but certainly the possible entry of Musk would shift the balance. The Reds are owned by Fenway Sports Group, a US multinational that also owns the Boston Red Sox in MLB baseball, the Pittsburgh Penguins in NHL hockey. The game seems to be just open, because the club's valuation is growing. The exit from the scene on the bench of a legend like Jurgen Klopp has not had any negative effects, on the contrary. With Arne Slott, the Reds are flying in the Premier League and expectations are also very high in the Champions League, with six wins in as many games so far. Mohamed Salah is having a sensational season, but it will be his last with Liverpool because his contract will not be renewed. All elements that the owner of Tesla, X and SpaceX will be evaluating before attempting a possible assault.
