PSG urges Donnarumma: “Accept the renewal or ask for a transfer”

Paris, June 6, 2025 – Time passes and the Paris Saint-Germain, fresh champion of Europe, has given the ultimatum to Gigio Donnarumma. According to the French newspaper Le Parisien, in fact, the club wants an immediate response from the Azzurri goalkeeper, who must definitively decide whether to continue his adventure with the French club or leave. Donnarumma arrived in France in 2021 as the reigning champion and after the expiration of his contract with the Milan. Since then, he has made a total of 153 appearances for the French champion club, spread over four seasons. As for trophies, he has won the championship four times with the Parisians, the French Super Cup and twice the French Cup, as well as the Champions League last week in the final against Inter. His contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in June 2026, so a year later, the management has asked the player to definitively dissolve the reserves, also to protect themselves in the event of a non-renewal. PSG's objective is to confirm the players who won the Champions League and Donnarumma was decisive with his saves, but he no longer wants to wait and expects a response from the goalkeeper. The former AC Milan goalkeeper has never hidden how much he misses Italy, but at the same time he reiterated in the press conference a few days ago that he is happy in Paris and is not thinking of leaving at the moment. However, the situation could evolve rapidly in the coming weeks, with PSG absolutely not wanting to lose the goalkeeper for free. In Italy, several teams have shown interest in Donnarumma. One of these is certainly Inter, which had already moved in recent months to better understand the situation regarding the goalkeeper and, if necessary, make an attempt. Even the contract of Summer is expiring in 2026 and the future is still to be deciphered, with the Nerazzurri management thinking about the moves to make. Even the Juventus, in the meantime, remains on the sidelines, but for now there has been no concrete step forward from the Old Lady. In any case, Donnarumma will have to decide quickly what will happen to his future, because PSG does not want to wait any longer.
