Manchester, 28 November 2024 – From now on everyone will pay the same price: this is the imperative of the Manchester United regarding ticket sales. The club's Board of Directors, in fact, has decided to increase ticket prices and also reduce discounts for underage fans and those over 65, unlike what happened until now. The club's decision, as can be read in a press release issued by the Red Devils, is “aimed at improving operational efficiency and stabilizing revenues”.

From now on, tickets will cost £66 for everyone. (79,35 €), regardless of the age group of the fans who will buy them. This move by the club was not appreciated at all by the Red Devils fans, who are now ready to call a peaceful protest already from Sunday's match at 14,30 against theEverton. The Manchester United Supporters Trust (MUST) has strongly condemned this corporate policy, especially because the decision was taken mid-season and because the justification of financial regulation was used, which the fans believe to be an excuse.

Through his social profiles, the MUST expressed his disagreement by writing the following words: "The club has not listened to the fans on this issue. As fans we have done everything they asked of us. We supported the team, even when they played badly. We went to the games and complied with the new rules on ticket use. And we've already had a price increase. There's a risk that this is just the opening move in what will surely be a massive push to implement a significant price increase for next season, once they get used to charging 132 pounds for a ticket for a parent and child, will they go back to the past next year?”

Furthermore, this choice by the Board of Directors comes at a less than happy time for the English team: the Red Devils are in twelfth place in the league table. Premier League in front of 4 victories, the 4 draws and 4 losses made up for it so far. Fourth place is 6 points and the environment has already suffered a shock, with the farewell to the bench of Ten Hague and the arrival of Reuben Amorim as coach of the team. The fans, despite everything, have always been by the team's side, despite the results so far having been anything but positive, but this ticket policy adopted by the management risks damaging the relationship between the supporters and the team, which now more than ever needs the affection and support of its people.
