La Liga Results: Barcelona Comeback Wins and Remains at +4, Real Wins, Atletico Loses in the Canaries
The Blaugrana turn the game around against Celta Vigo, the pursuit of salvation heats up behind

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick
Madrid 21 April 2025 - All the verdicts are still up in Spain and La Liga couldn't be more exciting. At the top is Barcelona suffers, fights and finally overturns a very complicated challenge, while behind him the Real Madrid picks up the pieces of its elimination from the Champions League and imposes itself against the Bilbao. Atletico Madrid, on the other hand, surprisingly stopped: beaten in the Canaries by Las Palmas in search of a last rush for salvation. In the middle of the table the fight for Europe e Conference League, in such a short ranking where the worst of the group can even be reabsorbed in the relegation zone. In addition to the Valladolid in fact all the others are running and week after week they continue to change the hierarchies in this fight.
The outcome of the weekend's matches
It was not the classic day of League explosive from the point of view of the scores: there was no shortage of goal-fests, but all the challenges were hard-fought and none with more than one goal difference, several of which were scored in the minutes of injury time in the second half. Starting from Friday evening when in Barcelona theEspanyol he beat the Getafe for 1-0, pushing the Catalans away from the red zone and stopping the rise of the Madrid team, who with the three points could have even pushed themselves to the gates of Europe. The one who knocked out the team from the suburbs of the capital was also the former Roma and Verona player Plums, this season among the Catalans. Speaking of Madrid, in the Vallecas neighborhood the Thunderbolt stops at 1-1 Valencia very successful, who after a season spent among the bottom three of the class, now seems to be very successful towards the positions that could be worth a continental qualification. The team of Corberan to get the better of the very solid red and whites.
The most spectacular match of the day is undoubtedly in Montjuic. The Barcelona he was returning from the Champions League commitments and although tired, he could not be ready for the perfect storm of the Celta Vigo. After the initial advantage of Torres the Blaugrana seemed to be able to manage, but they hadn't taken into account the hat-trick of Borja Churches. The Catalans, however, managed not to turn off the light and finally snatched an incredible 4-3 victory, amidst the applause of Montjuic. However, Barça's comeback was not emulated by Atletico on the same Saturday evening. The Colchoneros went behind against Las Palmas and in the end dragged the 1-0 lead until the final whistle, thus almost definitively saying goodbye to the race for the title. The three points instead gave a great push up the islanders, who momentarily emerged again out of the relegation zone. Between the two games a lukewarm 0-0 in the Balearics between Maiorca and Leganes.
Four matches on Sunday instead, plus the Monday postponement between Real Betis e Girona, which will be played in Catalonia at the Montilivi stadium. The Spanish top league opens Easter Sunday with a spectacular 2-3 between Valladolid e Osasuna. The Pamplona team moves forward and then is good at managing the home team's comebacks, taking home three points, which smell very much like relegation for their rivals. The white and purples in fact have 16 points to recover on the fourth-last Las Palmas, or rather the same number they have obtained throughout the season, numbers that unanimously indicate a relegation for the president's team Ronaldo the phenomenon. Two draws instead respectively in Vila-Real and Seville. In the Valencian Community the "Submarino Amarillo" draws 2-2 against Real Society, in one of the most interesting challenges of this round. At the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium, however, the Andalusians failed to overcome the Basques of Sport Alaves, in a match that ended 1-1.
However, given their reputation and history, no challenge in this round could have thought of coming close to Real Madrid e Athletic Club of Bilbao. At the Santiago Bernabeu it is a blanco monologue, a nervous and talented reaction to the elimination in the Champions League, against one of the most historic rivals, both for the prestige and the political identity of both teams. Despite the domination, however, Ancelotti's boys win only in the final. The goal in the minutes of recovery by Valverde worth gold for the Merengue still in the wake of the Barcelona and still clinging to the hope of winning the title at home.
