Premier League Results: Relegation battle already over, Liverpool 2 points from title
Reds move within one win of league title, relegation battle already closed

Liverpool one step away from the title
London 21 April 2025 - The Premier League is split in its challenges for supremacy into five distinct blocks and day after day the separation is increasingly clear. Liverpool wins again and earns the first match point for the title. Behind theArsenal instead the fight rages Champions with five teams for three places. A last little group clinging to the hope of a last European place competing for eighth place, before the block of the big disappointed teams from this year. Disappointed yes, but not relegated, because that makes up the bottom of the table and at an (almost) arithmetic level has already decreed with five days in advance the teams that next year will play the Championship. This day has only reaffirmed the clear separation between all these groups.
The outcome of the weekend's matches
The day of Prime minister League opens with a challenge where neither team has anything left to ask of the championship. At the London Stadium it ends 1-1 between West Ham e Southampton, in a match with no consequences for the standings. The match between Everton e Manchester City, where the kids from Guardiola, after a long battle, they resolve it in the final, snatching three very important points in the Champions League fight at Goodison Park. The mid-table challenge between Crystal Palace e Bournemouth. The other challenge, the third, played in London on this Saturday, was definitely more interesting. Prime minister League, Between Brentford e BrightonThe Bees beat the Southern English side 4-2, extending the Seagulls' losing streak to five consecutive games without a win.
To conclude Saturday's day there is perhaps the most anticipated challenge of the whole weekend. The Newcastle in top form visits theAston Villa, fresh from elimination in Champions LeagueOn paper it seems like a very balanced match with very important points up for grabs for the Champions League, actually turns into a wonderful show, courtesy of the guys at Unai Emery. The Villains in fact after a balanced first half demolished the Magpies and won 4-1 in an entertaining match, which they well deserved to take home. The surprises did not end there, however, because United instead felt the European fatigue and fell at Old Trafford 0-1 against Wolverhampton on the afternoon of Easter Sunday.
L'Arsenal does its part and at least for another day keeps the fight for the championship alive, winning with a clear 0-4 againstIpswich Town, bringing the Tractor Boys to just one point above mathematical relegation. The Gunners' success thus practically closes the fight for survival. Chelsea wins the derby at Craven Cottage not without suffering, defeating Fulham for 1-2, while the Liverpool it imposes itself narrowly against the Leicester for 0-1, thus obtaining the match point for the next matchday: another 3 points and the Reds will be able to celebrate their twentieth English title. The matchday ends with the Sunday evening postponement, where the Tottenham falls at home against the Nottingham Forest for 1-2.
