Kick-off and restart delays: Manchester City fined again

Manchester, 20 June 2025 – Another fine for the Manchester City, which will have to pay £1,1 million to the Premier League due to failure to respect the kick-off time and the restart of play during the second half of some league matches. The rule violated by Guardiola and his team is number 33, which requires punctuality both in kick-offs and in the resumption of play, in order to respect the fans and participating clubs, as well as to guarantee the broadcast of each match on time. Manchester City are not new to this type of sanctions: last season, in fact, the citizens were fined for the same reason, with the 22 delays costing 2 million pounds. This year there have been fewer incidents of this kind, with the longest (2 minutes and 24 seconds) dating back to the derby played with the Manchester United last December. In any case, the club will have 14 days to pay the fine.
