Bologna, 11 December 2024 – An almost perfect path for the Lazio di Baroni, “soiled” only by the last draw obtained at home against Ludogorets. However, starting tomorrow the Biancocelesti will have the opportunity to regain the three points, but the opponent in question is far from approachable. At 21 pm, in fact, the challenge between Lazio and Ajax di Farioli, which is only three points away in the top-flight of this edition of Europa League. The Rome, instead, will be busy at the Olimpico against the Braga at 18:45. The Giallorossi are currently in twenty-first place in the standings with 6 points, with their only victory dating back to three days ago, when they overtook Dinamo Kiev thanks to the rigor of dovbyk. For Ranieri and it is no longer possible for him to make any missteps.

Lazio to maintain first place

Until the draw against Ludogorets, the Biancocelesti were the only team with full points in the entire table, but after the 0-0 in the last round, Baroni and his team were joined by Athletic Bilbao e Frankfurt, with whom they now share the lead. Three points behind is Farioli's Ajax, the Biancocelesti's next opponent. The Dutch are coming off a 2-0 defeat against Real Sociedad, and even in the championship a defeat arrived in the last match against the AZ. However, the Biancocelesti also have to deal with the next Serie A match, in which they will arrive at the Olimpico Inter. For today's match, therefore, a slight turnover for Baroni is likely, with Castilians who will surely start given the disqualification he will serve in the match against the Nerazzurri. Below are the probable lineups of the two teams:

Lazio (4-2-3-1): Mandas; Lazzari, Gigot, Patric, Pellegrini; Dele-Bashiru, Rovella; Tchaouna, Pedro, Noslin; Castellanos. Coach: Baroni. Ajax (4-3-3): Pasveer; Rensch, Sutalo, Baas, Hato; Fitz-Jim, Henderson, Berghuis; Traore, Brobbey, Akpom. All.: Farioli.

The challenge will be played on Thursday 12 December, with kick-off at 21:00. The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sport Uno (201) and Sky Sport (252), but also in live streaming on NOW and Sky Go

Roma chasing points

The draw achieved at the last minute against Tottenham and the large 4-1 victory over Lecce in the last round of Serie A has brought back some serenity to the Giallorossi environment, which can now look to the future with more optimism. However, only tomorrow will we find out if the worst is truly over, when the Giallorossi will face the Braga at 18pm: it's not a do-or-die match but we're close, given that the Giallorossi, with 45 points, can't make any more mistakes. Ranieri should rely on the faithful, with Svilar between the posts, Mancini, Hummels and Ndicka in defense, Abdulhamid and Angelino on the wings and Koné and Paredes in the middle of the field. In attack, Dybala and Saelemaekers will operate behind Dovbyk. Below are the probable formations of the two teams:

Rome (3-4-2-1): Svilar; Mancini, Hummels, Ndicka; Abdulhamid, Koné, Paredes, Angelino; Saelemaekers, Dybala; Dovbyk. All.: Ranieri. Braga (3-4-3): Matheus; Ferreira, Niakaté, Arrey-Mbi; Roger, Moutinho, Carvalho, Gabri Martinez; R. Horta, El Ouazzani, Bruma. All.: Carvalhal.

The challenge will be played on Thursday 12 December, with kick-off at 18:45. The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sport Uno (201) and Sky Sport (252), but also in live streaming on NOW and Sky Go
