Prague (Czech Republic), 13 March 2024 – Il Milan try at least for a few hours to put aside the non-football storm that has affected the club in recent days and concentrate exclusively on the pitch: tomorrow at 18.45pm (match live on DAZN e Sky Sports One), the Rossoneri will visit Slavia Prague to play the second leg of the Europa League round of 16. We start from the 4-2 obtained by the Rossoneri at San Siro a week ago but the mantra, as underlined in the press conference by Mister Stefano Pioli it is “forbidden to lower one's guard”: “There is absolutely no risk of underestimating the commitment. We know we have gained a fair margin of advantage but qualification is still to be achieved and will have to be achieved with a performance made up of attention, determination and quality, because our players know how to play with energy, intensity, they know how to attack and do it even with many players and this could help us find more spaces. We know what kind of performance will be needed tomorrow. We will have to be a team that attacks and defends well, that knows how to stay within the game and take advantage of every situation to gain advantages over our opponents." According to Pioli, the off-field issues that have overwhelmed the club in the last few hours have not also affected the team: “I didn't have to say anything to the team, because I saw so much serenity around us. We prepared with a lot of concentration and we know that the cup is an important objective and that we want to get through." On the same wavelength the words of Fikayo tomori, returned after a long stop: “We are calm, ready and concentrated. We need to be focused only on ourselves. We know well what we will have to do on the pitch. A tough match awaits us but we prepared it in the right way. Slavia is a good team. We will start with a two-goal advantage but we will have to do better than in the first leg, but I am sure that with the right approach and the right mentality we will pass this round.
The choices of Pioli and Trpisovsky
Mister Stefano Pioli will still opt for 4-2-3-1 but with some changes compared to the first leg match, Starting with the return from the 1st minute in the defensive package in front of captain Calabria's Maignan – fielded in place of the suspended Florenzi – and of Tumor, who will make up the department together with Gabbia and Theo Hernandez. In front of the defense there will still be Adlì and Reijnders. Finally, nothing new, not even in the advanced department: Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek and Leao will act in the attacking midfield, supporting striker Giroud. Slavia coach Trpisovsky should instead propose the starting eleven from the first leg, lined up with a 4-2-3-1 that mirrors the Rossoneri one: the back four line from goalkeeper Stanek should therefore be formed by Vicek, Holes, Zima and Boril, while Masopust and Dorley will form the pair in midfield. Doudera, Provod and Zmrzly will finally work behind Chytil, on whom the weight of the attack will fall. Times and where to see it on TV: the Slavia Prague-Milan match, valid for the second leg of the round of 253 of the Europa League, will be broadcast live on DAZN, Sky Sport Uno, Sky Sport XNUMX and in streaming on Sky Go, Dazn and Now TV. Probable lineups: Milan (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Gabbia, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Adli, Reijnders; Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, Leao; Giroud. All. Pioli. Slavia Prague (4-2-3-1): Stanek; Vicek, Holes, Zima, Boril; Masopust, Dorley; Doudera, Provod, Zmrzly; Chytil. All. Trpisovsky
