Europa League, today Milan-Slavia Prague: the latest, lineups and where to see it
The Rossoneri face the Czechs at San Siro in the first leg of the round of 16

Leao (Ansa)
Milan, 7 March 2024 – The precious last-gasp success against Lazio in last Friday's championship match has been archived, Milan's Europa League adventure restarts. After passing the playoff at the expense of Rennes, the Nyon urn put the Czechs on the Rossoneri's path Slavia Prague, that tonight at 21 (match live on DAZN and Sky Sport but also free-to-air on TV8) will arrive at San Siro to play the first leg of the Europa League round of 16. A decisive moment of the season, as the coach also underlined Stefano Pioli who then reiterated the Rossoneri's objective of reaching the end of this European journey: “The team came out of the match against Lazio well. We may not have played the best match from a technical point of view, but without a doubt the attitude was right. The boys are fine, they are aware that we are entering a decisive phase of the season and I think they are ready to face it. Getting to the bottom of the competition? We have to think we can win it, but first we will have to be good at getting through this first round. We shouldn't look too far ahead, it's not the right approach. We face a Slavia team that lost on only one occasion during the group and we will have to be good at exploiting the factor of playing the first leg at home. We feel good and we have to take advantage of this positive moment and think about one session at a time but clearly within us we have both the right awareness and the enthusiasm to be able to get to the end." On the same wavelength the words of Yacine Adlì, who should start among the starters again this evening: “It's not the Champions League but a very important match still awaits us because there is the desire to get to the end of the competition. We are aware that Slavia is a very physical team and that they will show great intensity for the entire 90'".
The choices of Pioli and Trpisovský
The first good news for Pioli comes from the infirmary which is effectively emptied, with only Pobega remaining in the pits. The Rossoneri coach, who will not give up the 4-2-3-1 that has given his Milan certainty, should focus on a starting eleven with only one change compared to the one that Lazio faced: the time is not yet ripe to see Tomori and Kalulu at the center of the defensive package in front of Maignan from the 1st minute, which will therefore still be made up of Florenzi, Kjaer, Gabbia, and Theo Hernandez. The news is in the median where Reijnders will be teaming up with Adlì, while in the attacking midfield there will still be Leao - who will have to miss the next championship match due to disqualification like Florenzi - alongside Loftus-Cheek and Pulisic, who will act in support of striker Giroud. Trpisovský's Slavia will respond with the three-man defence: Vlcek, Ogbu and Zima will be the three central defenders to protect goalkeeper Stanek. The side lanes will instead be the responsibility of Doudera and Diouf, with Masopust and Oscara manning the central part of the pitch. Provod and Wallem will instead play behind striker Van Buren.
