Rome 23 October 2024 - There is no way around it, the new Europa League requires getting points as soon as possible and Roma has not been able to do so. Tomorrow, however, there is the chance to make up for lost time in front of their own fans and the team of Ivan Juric does not want to miss the opportunity. In the match valid for the third day of the Europa League, in fact, the Capitoline hosts at the Stadio Olimpico the Dinamo Kiev, in a challenge that on paper is within the reach of the Giallorossi. Kick-off is set for 18:45.

La Rome wants to start again after a complicated start in Europe. In fact, in the debut they had achieved a good draw againstAthletic Club of Bilbao, a team with the quality and potential to get to the end of the competition, perhaps deserving something more. On the second day, however, perhaps the worst performance of the season by the Giallorossi was seen, falling in Boras againstElfsborg in a match where the team lacked courage and fluidity of movement Juric, falling against the team of Hiljemark. Erasing everything and starting over must be the mantra for the Lupa team. The return after the break immediately put the Roma boys in front of a very difficult opponent like Inter and despite the lack of a result, the performance was of quality. Now we need to reiterate what we saw against the Nerazzurri in Europe and make a single bite of the Dynamo KievIt remains to be seen whether the Croatian coach will take advantage of the challenge to make some changes, but we must not exaggerate, because the price has already been paid in Sweden.

On the other side, however, there will be a team chasing the first European points of their season. The Ukrainian team is in fact coming off two defeats in as many matches played in this Europa League. After being defeated in their debut by a super Lazio, absolutely overflowing in the challenge played in Hamburg, the Ukrainians also fell in the challenge againstHoffenheim away, thus closing the first two games with zero points. But if in Europa League the start of the season for the white and blues of the Ukrainian capital have had a lot of difficulty, the same cannot be said for the domestic championship. The team led by Alexander Shovkovskiy in fact he leads the Premier League Ukraine with 25 points obtained in 9 days. A championship still very long, but which currently gives the white and blues a significant margin over the big favorite Shakhtar Donetsk. Who knows then, maybe the main focus of the guests could be the championship and maybe give something in terms of energy to the challenge against the Capitoline team.

The Dutch Serdar Gözübüyük is the referee designated by UEFA for Roma-Dynamo Kiev, third day race of Europa League scheduled for Thursday 24 October at 18:45. The assistants will be the Dutch Erwin Zeinstra and Johan Balder. The fourth official will be Sander van der Eijk, also from the Netherlands. Dennis Higler will be at the VAR, while Erwin Blank has been designated as the VAR assistant. For the Turkish referee, this will be his tenth of the season, his first in Europa League, after having already directed three international level matches, 1 in Champions League and 2 in Nations League (League A). The other matches refereed by the Dutch referee are 5 of Eredivisie and 1 by Saudi Pro LeagueTomorrow's challenge will be the second career crossing for the Rome with the Dutch referee, in the only previous match the Giallorossi lost 2-1, it was the quarter-finals of the Conference League then won, the opponent was the Bodo / Glimt. Second career crossover also with the Dinamo Kiev for the referee born in Haarlem, also defeated by the Ukrainians in the previous match two years ago in Europa League against Rennes.

Probable lineups

Juric is looking for his first success in Europe as a coach. To achieve it, despite the very challenging recent effort in the championship against Inter, he should rely on three-quarters of the defense, including the goalkeeper, seen against the Nerazzurri. In front of Silker then ready N'Dicka in the center e Mancini on the right, with a run-off between Beautiful e Hummels for the role of third on the left: the Spaniard is slightly favored over the German. In midfield on the wings it should be the turn of abdulhamid on the right, with Angelino on the opposite side, Spanish with Zalewski competing for the place. pisilli e La Fée are the two main candidates to fill the role of holders instead in midfield. The position of dovbyk at the centre of the attack, the former Girona striker will initially be supported by Soulé e Baldanzi.

The Ukrainian coach, former goalkeeper of the national team when Shevchenko played, should propose his 4-3-3 again. There is no doubt about who will defend the goal, with Bushchan very titular. The four-man line sees a small ballot on the right lane, with Karavaiev currently slightly favored over Tymchyk. For the rest of the department instead Dubinchak will occupy the left lane, with Popov e Bilovar to occupy the central zone, the latter in a ballot with Mykhavko. In midfield Shaparenko will dictate the pace of the game with Brazhko at his side and one between captain Buyalskyi and Mykhaleenko, the latter favored for the role of third midfielder. In attack Vanat will be the central reference, supported by Kabaev e Voloshyn, while Yarmolenko will probably not be there, struggling with a thigh problem.

Rome (3-4-2-1) Svilar; Mancini, N'Dicka, Hermoso; Abdulhamid, Le Fée, Pisilli, Angeliño; Soulé, Baldanzi; Dovbyk. All. Ivan Juric.

Dinamo Kiev (4-3-3) Bushchan; Karaiev, Popov, Bilovar, Dubinchak; Shaparenko, Brazhko, Mykhailenko; Voloshyn, Vanat, Kabayev. All. Oleksandr Shovkovskyi.
