Gabriele Gravina was elected for the third consecutive time as federal president of the FIGC thanks to the 481 thousand votes, Equal to 98,68%, during the elections held in the capital. The number one of the FIGC was elected for the third consecutive time at the head of the Italian football movement almost unanimously, after having presented himself in the elections as the only candidate.

Gravina will remain at the helm of the Italian football movement for three more years, after being elected for the first time in 2018 immediately after the Italian flop of failing to qualify for the World Cup in Russia in November 2017. However, this is a victory comparable to a penalty kicked into an empty net, as the number one of Italian football had presented himself at these elections without direct rivals following the failure of both the former footballer of JuventusAlex Del Piero, with rumours of his possible candidacy having circulated a few months ago but which have never found any confirmation in reality, both of the president of the Lazio Claudio Lotito.

Gravina's path has been one of light and shade since his first election as head of the FIGC, in which the joy of Conquest of the European Championship 2021 they alternated big disappointments like the second failure to qualify in a row at the final stage of the World Cup and the early exit in the round of 2024 during the XNUMX European Championships as reigning champions after a very hard-won passage to the next round.
