Fiorentina, striker Baiano speaks: "Kean, if you leave you're wrong. Dzeko? He'll come to play"
Face to face with the former striker, between advice to the strikers and messages to the club: "Gud must be redeemed immediately because he is a phenomenon and because you have already... paid for him"

Edin Dzeko, ready to return to Italy from his experience in Türkiye
Florence, June 15, 2025 – Forwards arriving, forwards leaving, forwards on whom we will need to think carefully. The Viola carousel appears well-stocked on the subject and is spinning quickly in the days leading up to Pioli-day.
The Kean case, the flashes on Immobile… in short, the doubts on Gudmundsson: the summer of the strikers is something that makes you discuss, reflect in its own way and even worry. And not only under the beach umbrella. It is right, therefore, to decide to read it with someone who has lived the Fiorentina attack to the fullest with goals, strikers and Viola issues: Ciccio Baiano.
Let's get straight to the point: do you think Kean will stay in Florence?
“I hope so for him. Moise would not be making the best choice if he went elsewhere.”
And why?
“For several reasons. First: Fiorentina, after the year Kean spent with this shirt, is and remains the right place to repeat himself. Here he would have the peace of mind and the right credits to work without stress. Second: if he were to leave, he would go to a top ten club in international football, right? There he would find himself fighting alongside other strikers as strong as him, if not stronger and consequently he would have to work hard to get a place in the team. In short, he would not be the immovable starter that he is and will be in Viola. Third: next year, it should, I say should because Italy really scares me a little, be the year of the World Cup and Kean for me is the centre forward of the national team, without ifs or buts. But… to fill this role he will have to come from a season of great continuity. Playing practically always and this guarantee, leaving Florence, no one will give him”.
Message to Kean delivered. Baiano, shall we send one to Fiorentina now about what to do with Gud?
“Well, I really like players who have talent. And he has talent to spare, I didn't just see it, we all see it, I think, right? Ok, Gud played an intermittent season. He had major injuries, he struggled to come back after the breaks and he was at the center of a very bad personal process. He must have had negative thoughts and this made him lose nervous energy. It made him not be calm. So, given that you have in some way... already paid for the player with a very heavy loan financially, I would buy him back, without thinking too much. With him, Fiorentina will have a player of the highest quality at their disposal, who already knows the Italian championship well and then... then, tell me who stronger than Gud could be bought with the amount that Fiorentina won't put on his redemption? No one, trust me”.
Is taking Dzeko a good move?
"He's 39 years old, that's true, but we're talking about a solid striker, who's doing well and has always scored a lot. He's an important player who I'm sure will continue to bring great motivation. So yes, Fiorentina has made a great move, although I'd like to have my say on one thing."
What doesn't convince you about Dzeko?
“In my opinion, someone like him comes to play. He wants to play. He needs to play. So hearing that he will be Kean's first alternative worries me. Forget the idea that Dzeko chooses Fiorentina to play 10 minutes a game to give Kean a breather”.
Do you think the same if I mention Immobile's name?
“Look, from what I know, Immobile is doing very well in Turkey too. He feels good, he made an important choice. Maybe he might want to try his luck in Italy again, but I don't know how much this could be at the center of his ambitions. I've also heard the rumors about Immobile heading to Fiorentina, but... We'll see”.
Someone tried to get Pinamonti on the purple tips carousel: could it be done?
“Let's put it this way: I don't think Pinamonti would be happy to come to Fiorentina where Kean and Dzeko could already coexist. Where he is, in Genoa, he is the starter. He plays, he takes responsibility, he knows he can have as much space as he wants. Coming to Florence to play behind those two is not the choice he will make, I think. And I understand that. Moving to be one of the department, and having two giants like Moise and Dzeko in front of you is not exactly a stimulus for someone like Pinamonti who wants above all to play”.
Could Colombo arrive in this role, leaving Empoli?
"This is a solution that suits me and that could be very suitable for the needs of Fiorentina and also for the boy. Colombo has played, he also scored several goals with Empoli and being able to arrive in Viola to complete the offensive department could be an important opportunity for him, in an important team and alongside strong forwards. Yes, I think it would be the right move".
