Anti-Napoli team. Cataldi is there, Gosens is back
Today is a finishing training session and the last test for the starting lineup. In attack, Sottil is confirmed as a winger. Gud plays, Beltran is out.
Danilo Cataldi will be regularly on the pitch in tomorrow's big match at 18:2025 against Napoli that will officially open Fiorentina's 4. The midfielder has recovered from the slight fever that knocked him out on New Year's Day, when the Viola trained with open doors at the Franchi stadium, and is ready to take back his place paired with Adli in the classic starting 2-3-1-XNUMX (the playing system is not destined to change).
The flu was also a nuisance that the former Lazio player had to deal with in the last match of last year: already in Turin against Juventus, the midfielder had taken to the field in rather precarious conditions, ending up by inadvertently putting his signature on the 2-1 for the Bianconeri at the start of the second half (his deflection was fatal in allowing Thuram to score a brace).
For Cataldi, the ankle problems that have knocked him out several times in the past also seem to have been resolved for the moment. For the rest, there do not seem to be any big surprises in the lineup that will face the league leaders: compared to the starting eleven that played at the Allianz Stadium, Palladino is apparently evaluating the possibility of re-proposing Gosens (who started from the bench) from the 1st minute on the left side of the defense, in place of an excellent Parisi who the coach would like to be able to continue training even at the end of January.
The rest of the deployment in the center of the defense is obvious (called, against Lukaku, to yet another veteran performance after those in front of bombers like Abraham, Morata, Dovbyk and Vlahovic) as well as that of Colpani and Sottil. The doubt, if anything, is in the center of the three-quarter line: the recent performances of Gudmundsson (impalpable in the last three games in a row with Vitoria Guimaraes, Udinese and Juventus) have set off an alarm bell within the Viola staff who in any case would still be inclined to trust the Icelander, with a fair advantage over Beltran.
