Venezia, Bologna and Udinese: Three wins needed to save Fiorentina's season

Florence, May 9, 2025 – Win, win, win: to save the season of Fiorentina three victories are needed to earn a place in Europe. That's why you need to get back up right away the bitter disappointment against Betis Sevilla (elimination in the Conference League semi-final), to avoid the concrete risk of not qualifying for any European cup. There are six places, seven at most with a favorable combination.

Eighth with 59 points, behind Bologna at 62, currently the Viola are out of Europe. The top four (currently Napoli, Inter, Atalanta and Juventus) go to the Champions League, while the fifth (currently Roma) plus the winner of the Coppa Italia (Bologna or Milan) go to the Europa League. The sixth (Lazio) would go to the Conference League. If Bologna were to finish in the top six and win the Coppa Italia, another spot would open up and would be in the Conference League.  

Taking into account that behind Milan they are only 2 points behind the Viola to enter the top six (or seven, hoping for Bologna) Fiorentina cannot leave any more points on the road. It won't be easy at all. Starting Monday, May 12th in Venice (the lagoon dwellers fight to save themselves), then the direct clash at home with Bologna and, finally, the away from Udine with the Friulians without any ambitions for the rankings, but with the desire to finish well.

We must therefore put aside the bitterness of the cup and the controversies about coach Palladino, his choices, the changes, the criticisms of this or that player: there will be time to analyse the whole season, now we have to save it: supporting it to the end to achieve three fundamental victories.
