Inter, what a beating at Fiorentina's home: three goals conceded that in the end even make Conte smile
A very bitter recovery match for the Nerazzurri, overwhelmed on the Artemio Franchi pitch and never really dangerous. The feat of catching up with Napoli at the top of the table fails

A goal-scoring opportunity for Lautaro after Fiorentina's first goal, but the home team's goal remained untouched for the entire match
Milan, 6 February 2025 – The thud resounds far away. Inter lost 3-0 in the recovery of the match with Fiorentina interrupted last December 1st after Bove fell ill and it is to the midfielder, present on the Viola bench alongside his former teammates, that Simone Inzaghi reserves his only smile at the end of the match. Ugly and unexpected, Florence's defeat comes against a team that has very few effectives available, thanks to the absence of the new purchases by regulation and the physical conditions of Adli (absent), Cataldi and Colpani (on the bench). After the draw in the derby on Sunday, achieved with anger but certainly not with a brilliant maneuver, despite the many occasions created in the second half, the Nerazzurri suffered a tough defeat that did not allow them to catch up with Napoli in the lead. Conte remains at +3 and without the asterisk next to the Italian champions.

Too generous defense
Many people fail, in the guests. A defense that concedes scoring opportunities already in the first half against the unleashed Kean. The center forward drives the opposing center backs crazy by sprinting at every counterattack. Inzaghi's team, on the other hand, makes mistakes in closing down and is slow in moving the ball. The coach's shouts do not shake the players, who are already embarrassed in the first half. Carlos Augusto scores offside in one of the rare assaults at the door of De Gea, shortly after the restart of the match. The most important opportunity after the Brazilian's comes only in the final minutes to Arnautovic, that fails to divert to a few steps from the door.
Purple Triumph
In the middle there's just a lot of Fiorentina. Ranieri's goal that takes the time of a less than brilliant Frattesi. Kean's doubling on a cross from Dodò, after a bad mix-up between Mkhitaryan and Calhanoglu. The Italian striker once again collected the involuntary assist from Marco's, which opens the door for his national teammate. Monday, ironically, the two teams will face each other again, on the reversed fields, with Viola strengthened by winter purchases and Inter who will have to immediately leave the Franchi's defeat.
