Two goals and a good defense: Inter keep hope alive

Milan, 11 May 2025 – “It's no longer in our hands, but we still have to play seriously". The comment of Simone Inzaghi at the end of Torino-Inter sums up the Nerazzurri coach's desire to leave no stone unturned in the quest for the Scudetto.

The team is affected by the recent Champions League commitment, victorious but with the aftermath of four absences (the already injured Pavard they added Mkhitaryan, Frattesi e Lautaro). Nine elevenths different from the 1st are a lot, the risk is to lose the distances, not to have enough quality to overcome the granata on their own pitch, even if the opponent no longer has ambitions of classification.

Inzaghi finds that same quality, however, with a surprising twist: Zalewski he plays as a midfielder, in reality almost an attacking midfielder in addition to Correa (also with a very backward range of action) and to the central striker Taremis.

It is unlikely that the four unavailable players will recover for the next matchday against Lazio, which means that even for the penultimate match of the championship the lineup will be on the edge of experimental. Even if they do not want to give up in Serie A any time soon, the reigning Italian champions must deal with the appointment of May 31st, when the final of Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain.
