Juve, new investigation in Rome: the 2022 budget under the lens

The file does not concern the club and suggests false corporate communications. On a sporting level, further risks are excluded

The Rome Prosecutor's Office has acquired the 'Prisma' investigation of Turin

Rome, 23 December – La Prosecutor of Rome has started a new investigation file relating to Juventus balance sheet as of 30 June 2022. Last December 7, Juventus received a request for the acquisition of documents relating to those financial statements, communicating, through a note, that it had learned that "investigations are pending at the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office in relation to company representatives for the cases referred to in art. 2622 civil code (false social communications, ed) in relation to the financial statements as at 30 June 2022'' underlining that the company was not under investigation.

Meanwhile, the Rome prosecutor's office closed the proceedings on Friday investigations relating to Juventus accounts after the transmission of the documents of the 'Prisma' investigation, decided by the Supreme Court on 6 September which declared Turin's territorial incompetence and ordered the transmission of the documents to the capital's prosecutors.

The prosecutors of the group that deals with economic crimes after having acquired the documents and carried out further investigations, they notified the notice of conclusion of the investigations, 415 bis, to the suspects: the investigation, which started in Turin and then landed in Rome, also involved the former leaders of the Juventus club. The charges, for various reasons, contested are those of market manipulation, obstruction of supervision and false invoicing. In particular, according to the accusation, fictitious capital gains and maneuvers on the salaries of footballers are hypothesized during the Covid pandemic.
