Juventus-Milan 2-0, Mbangula and Weah knock down the Devils

Turin, 18 January 2025 - La Juventus takes revenge on the Milan, who had beaten them in the semi-final of the Italian Super Cup. This time the Rossoneri did not recover and surrendered 2-0: the goals of Mbangula (with a decisive deviation of EmersonRoyal) to Weah in the space of four minutes they knock out the Devil. The Old Lady thus returns to smile for the three points after three consecutive draws and temporarily overcome the Lazio in fourth place. First half

The script of the match was pretty clear from the start: Juventus controlled possession of the ball, while Milan relied on counterattacks. The first chance of the match came in the 8th minute, when Mbangula's curling right-footed shot narrowly missed the target. The same fate awaited Koopmeiners's shot in the 14th minute. The Devils also made their presence felt in the 19th minute: following a corner kicked by Theo Hernandez, a free play in the center of the area freed Reijnders, whose right-footed shot - deflected by Locatelli and Tomori - ended up wide. It was the Old Lady who made the game, but the Bianconeri took a big risk in the 27th minute: Theo's foray down the left flank created major difficulties for the opposing defense, saved by Di Gregorio's intervention on Leao, then on the subsequent counterattack Nico Gonzalez wasted his chance. Maignan also had to get his gloves dirty in the 35th minute, with the French goalkeeper called into action by Yildiz. Right at the end of the half, Theo tries with his head, Gatti does well to block. 

Second half

At the start of the second half, Thiago Motta was forced to take off Yildiz due to a muscle problem: Weah came in to replace him. In the 53rd minute, Maignan made a decisive double save, first on Weah's shot, then on Koopmeiners, who after stealing the ball from Theo, squandered the lead. In this case, the Rossoneri were saved, while they were not so lucky in the 59th minute: Mbangula he unleashes a right-footed shot that is deflected by EmersonRoyal and mocks Maignan. Madama is not satisfied and in the 63rd minute doubles: Thuram recovers the ball, launches Weah who inflates the net with his left foot. Conceicao, after having already sent Jimenenz on the pitch, also launches Camarda, while on the other side it is Douglas Luiz's turn. The reaction of the Lombards is timid and so Terracciano and Jovic are also brought on. In the ranks of Juventus it is time for Vlahovic, Fagioli and then Adzic. The final push by Milan is inconclusive and so the Piedmontese can celebrate their return to victory.
