Washington, June 20, 2025 – Spend a few minutes in the Oval Office, with the President of the United States, the most powerful personality in the world, amidst proclamations of all kinds. It happened to Juve, before the match at the Club World Cup against Al Ain. Scenes that were, at times, surreal, both because of the grim look of the two American Juve players, Weah e McKennie, both for the statements of President Donald Trump on war, the Middle East and transgender, with the dazed team behind him, immobile, out of place. In short, an awkward meeting, almost like sinking and hiding, with extremely delicate and current issues that were not very suitable for a meeting of this kind. The climax was when Donald Trump asked if a woman could play in the men's Juventus, amidst general coldness over the president's well-known polemics on transgender sport, with a direct response from director Damien Come on 'we have a very strong women's team.'

Here it is: "I don't know if I will attack, but we cannot allow nuclear weapons", Donald's message under the astonished gaze of the Juventus players, involuntary protagonists of a geopolitical interview. Then, the transgender issue, rights, the possibility of playing professional sports, aspects that Trump he dismissed it amid general embarrassment, asking the players of the Juve if a woman could have played with them. In those moments of interminable silence, the general manager Damien intervened Come on: “We have a very strong women's team,” was her response, promptly retorted by Trump 'But women should play with other women, right?'. In support of the statements of Trump, the grim and serious looks of the two American players behind him, two who probably would not have voted for him. The positions of McKennie are known, he is not exactly a supporter of Donald, while Timothy Weah he expressed himself this way after the meeting: "He took me by surprise, when he started talking about politics I thought to myself: I just want to play football". Yes, football and politics are better kept separate.
